Day 391

On Friday my friend Judy brought me some delicious carrot and ginger soup she made, plus a whole bunch of other food. We ate and laughed and had a great time. Thank you Judy!

Tonight I had carrot and ginger soup and Pillsbury Grands for dinner. This sun is the bottom of a Grand decorated with the soup, on one of my Fiestaware small plates, color-Shamrock. I do enjoy brightening up my food.

The ginger was good for me to eat after my chemo treatment today which was the first time second try. It went well. I am so much stronger than I was in December and everyone agreed that would help me. It still took all day even though I did the blood work yesterday. Tonight no side effects but feeling like my kidneys really needed water. Hopefully nothing terrible tomorrow.

One Day at a Time!

Day 385

Hung out with my friends Scott and John at my place tonight. Eating cheese and crackers, humus, nuts and chocolate, but the carrots seemed to call sun. We washed it down with some tasty wine and conversation. Thanks for coming to visit guys and helping me move some stuff around.

Day 324

I was just about to make this look more sun like, and less, rice face on a Fiesta plate, when I got a phone call. It was Richard saying mom was having a racing heart beat and I was needed back home. He was taking her to the hospital.  I was down at my place with my friends Lynn and Cathy having Chinese food. News from the hospital is that Mom apparently forgot to take her meds this morning. So they are getting her straightened out and she'll be home soon.

Update: Mom did come home and she's fine. We requested she please try and remember to take her meds we don't need this extra stress and, of course, neither does she.

Day 280

I'm on a clear liquids diet here in hospital and they brought me 2 trays because my nurse was worried I wouldn't get back from my MRI in time so she ordered me a tray also. What else was I gonna do with all that jello? I did eat some of it. Everyone here is very impressed my nurse just said she thinks," this is a first, jello art". It is my first jello sun and I always love it when I use new media.

Day 273

It was a beautiful day and since I'm still home sick I spent a little time out on my deck. Seemed a good place to build a sun.

Day 265

Can't seem to stop playing with my food.  Not feeling well so it was hard to get anything done, but I did because I have a goal that I am now only 100 suns away from completing.

Day 252

Tools of a sunmaker.
The centerpiece is the bottom of a container I got peanuts in at a Mud Hens game.  It popped off so you could use the other part as a bullhorn.  This little piece of plastic has been the template for the circle in close to a hundred of my suns.  I bought this set of sharpies at Costco and have made several suns with them.

Day 251

Tonight I wasn't feeling the drawing and wanted to do another food sun but didn't know what to use then I remembered I bought a bag of Gardetto's snack mix today.   I used my pizza pan for a background and whipped up this little design with all the different tasty snack bits.

Day 244

For more than two years I have only had one car door that worked from the inside and out. Thankfully that was the drivers door which I replaced the door handle a few years ago.  I went up to MI to my brothers and he fixed all my doors after many hours of trial and error.   Yes I have four working doors and I am sooo darn excited.  Thank you Michael you are the best brother ever!

While I was waiting I was snacking on his Pizza Goldfish crackers and I got an idea. . .

Day 238

Made another sun at my neighbors pool with the neighbor kids. They made suns too.
Barely got it done before sunset.

A beautiful sunset on a hot humid night.

Day 234

Something new, my first sidewalk chalk sun.
I drew it next to my neighbors pool.

Day 230

Seemed like a good night to make another sun with rocks on my deck.

Day 227

VHS tapes, remember these?  I am working on unpacking and thought it would be fun to make a sun out of some of my old VHS cassette tapes. See any of  your favorites.

Day 220

Tonight I turned the keys over to my apartment.  I officially am finished with no more responsibilities.  It is a huge relief.  Afterwards I was snacking on some Cheez-It Duoz and pondering what I would do for a sun tonight. When inspiration hit.

Day 202

I like using the deck at my new place for my suns.

Day 194

More wet rocks on the deck at my new place.  I'm almost done painting the basement which I am very excited about it has been a very nasty job.  A few more days and I can start moving my stuff in, finally.

Day 170

I hauled my rocks over to the deck at my new place tonight. Outside I could throw some water on them to bring out the color.

Day 150

Well I have made it to day 150 and that makes me smile!

In case you missed it I will be at the Old West End festival Art Fair this weekend Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-5.  We are set up on the grounds of the Art Museum Glass Pavilion.  If you are in the area come say hi.  Saturday's weather is going to be interesting to say the least.

Day 95

One week from Artomatic and I spent the day working on my matting and framing.  Well mostly going through the years of matting and framing supplies I have and organizing and evaluating.  I am good to rock and roll tomorrow.  When I was going through stuff in my Mom's attic today I found this old egg carton that had a sea shell collection inside that I had put together for a class project in grade school.  I thought here's a new collection I can use to create a sun.  There are some really neat little shells, well preserved for how old they are.

 Two more daylight views.
