These bricks are made of clothing.
Mom and I both really liked the architecture of the building. The treelike look of these beams is emphasized nicely in the entrance way.
They have several very nice conservatories to explore. This was called the Victorian room. They had a chrysanthemums show.
I love the mums that look like spoons and that's what they are called, spoon mums.
We finally braved the drizzle and went outside, which is where the bulk of their Sculptures are displayed. They have a wonderful children's area.
The one thing we were told not to miss was "the horse" so we didn't.
My mom in the frame really emphasizes the scale. He's three stories high!
Another horse grazing nearby.
The whole trip was such a success that we can't wait to go back next year, or even sooner to see the city un-Art Prized. Hopefully I've also inspired many of my readers to go. I plan to be one of the 1500+ artists next year, and I'll need your vote!!
For those of you who noticed, I was to have posted about this last day two days ago. Unfortunately I got sick and didn't have it in me to finish. I had most of this post done, but yesterday I threw up for the first time in three weeks, which feels like a lifetime ago. I rested and slept the day away and am doing much better today.
The photographs I used on Day 463 were from the Meijer Sculpture Garden. My mom contributed some of the photos in my three posts about Art Prize.
