Day 366

I celebrated making 365 suns by not posting yesterday. It was a long day. I had to get up at 6am to start drinking imaging liquid for my cat scan at flower hospital. Mom took me and afterwards we went to breakfast then Christmas shopping which I think I am done with. Then grocery shopping. We were filling up the time before my 1:30 appointment with Dr Simo. She said my scan looked good, the infection is shrinking and there are no new infected areas. She took the drain bag off but the tube is still inside till next Friday. Needless to say all that wore out.  Today my old friend Sylke came from the Cleveland area for the day. It was very nice to see her. She really enjoyed all the Christmas decorations at moms.

Day 270

So nice to be home from hospital. The last time I was in the hospital overnight I was 17. So it's been a couple years. Apparently I've been so tired because my liver is messed up, don't know exactly why yet, waiting on biopsy results.  My Casey and Clara Belle were very happy to see me Julius seemed indifferent. This sun looks a lot like I feel, battered and worn.

Day 243

I have been looking through all these decorating magazines and it seems sunburst mirrors are in fashion right now and this is inspired by this trend.

Day 223

Barely got this one done then dosed off on the couch before I got it posted.  Green is such a great color, in my opinion.

Day 222

Don't know why I was in the mood to draw hundreds of tiny little circles tonight.  I took down the retrospective today.  Glad I left it up all week several people came through.  It was a lot of work and almost all of it has arrived here at my new home.  I have too much stuff.  Time to get going on this Etsy shop... while I am unpacking.  Just breathe!

Day 217

I fell asleep tonight on the couch before I got my sun done so this quick effort feels a bit unfinished.  Maybe I'll come back to it or maybe I'll move on because everyday is Sun-day.

Day 216

This is in my little 7 x 7 journal which I hadn't worked in for a few weeks.  Still so much unpacking to do but I didn't get anything done tonight but this sun.  I'll try again tomorrow.

Day 212

A simple quiet sun after a very nice birthday.  Many thanks to all the well wishers.
Now I have to get ready for my party.  I'm glad I am making a big deal out of 50
because it feels like a really big deal.

Day 199

A little light drawing tonight.  The calm before the big move which starts tomorrow with the bulk happening on Sunday when the weather breaks.

On July 28th, next Sunday, I will be at Art On the Mall here in Toledo at UT.  I did this show more than ten years ago a few times they even gave me a couple of awards so it will be interesting to go back. If you are in the area plan on coming by to say hi.  There will be 114 artists at this one day show from 10-5, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Day 192

Nice to do a little drawing tonight before one last big painting weekend at my soon to be new home.

Day 182

A little sun in my in my little 7 x 7 journal. No painting tonight in my soon to be home.  Needed the night off I am so tired and achy so instead dinner with friends and I drew this pensive sun.

Day 175

Making my sun usually happens between 9 and midnight and while I am posting it I always think why didn't I get this done earlier. But I guess 175 days means I probably won't change.  The important thing is that I have made 175 suns and I show no signs of stopping.  The other important thing is that I keep making my suns no matter what life brings me.

Day 169

Well I thought this was a good idea, a sun made out of only circles, but it only turned out OK.   It is too late to try something else, so this is all I have.

I woke up at 6 am this morning worrying about everything I need to do before I move.  Then I worked most of the day cleaning my new place.

Day 164

Silver and Gold
This is metallic silver and gold Gelly Roll markers with a little purple micron marker.  I really like the metallic marker, in person it looks very different from different angles.

Big day tomorrow Mom and I doing a Turkish marbling workshop, we'll see what kind of sun that brings.  It should be fun I am very excited.

Day 161

This little metallic sun is in my 7 x 7 journal.  I still haven't cut any suns out of my 7 x 7 nor have I made any duds in it.  I do realize that every sun isn't a masterpiece.

I am getting excited for the Art Walk Thursday.  Today I found out there will be 30 of us set up out on Adams and I will be near Manos Restaurant.  If it rains we will be inside at 1717 Adams but that is looking like only a small possibility.  It should be fun, come on Downtown, 6-9!

Day 153

I used my Gelly Roll markers to create this sun and just two colors navy and silver.  As I look at it while I write I am thinking it needs a third color but maybe not.  I'll see how it looks in daylight.

MARK YOUR CALENDERS! Two moths from today on August 3rd I am having a big 50th birthday party.  It will be a garden party, with a retrospective of my life as an artist, art show and sale, of course.  I am excited to put together the retrospective and as I gather stuff I am going to post it here.
