Started round two of chemo today and it went well. The Neulasta shot seemed to have helped my white blood cell count which was just under normal. It was still a long day, 10 - 4:30. Some friends have asked what cancer drugs I am on. During this first three months of chemo I am on Cisplatin which takes two hours to drip and Gemzar which takes 1/2 hour. It all goes through my port in my chest. Here I am about to eat lunch which they provide.
Yes it is nice to not have lost my hair, yet. The craziest thing has happened though. It was definitely thinning and then I dyed my hair. I had read an article that said dying your hair could make it fall out faster while on chemo, but my hair was looking terrible so I went for it, and ever since it is hardly falling out. I have a hair catcher in the shower. It's crazy there is so little hair coming out compared to before. So now we'll see what happens this round.
