Day1of my treatment cycle is over side effect free. I will go two weeks on, one week off. So I go back next week on day eight. So the big question is "Will I lose my hair?" The first round of chemo is actually two different kinds, one that takes two hours to put in and one that takes just a 1/2 hour. This first day was long, I was there 10 - 4:30. My port worked great but the area around it is still very sore. Cathy, my nurse for today, was very kind. She went over everything slowly and clearly because it was also the education meeting I was supposed to have before but it worked fine to do it as we went along. Richard and mom went along to learn also. They both took naps, it was a very busy weekend for them, while I still haven't slept a wink but I will soon. So, yes, the big question..... most likely it will just thin out during this first part but I could also lose it, everyone is different. It always comes down to the hair. I do really like my hair, it is one of my best features. It is not more important than beating this cancer.
